Tired of baking the same old banana bread with your ripe bananas? These banana peanut butter squares with chocolate chips are a fun way to switch things up! Similar to a the shape of a brownie, only these bars aren't too sweet because of their natural sweetener maple syrup.
Ingredients
2 ripe bananas
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup all purpose gluten free flour
1 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
1/3 cup chocolate chips (I used dairy free)
butter or oil to grease baking dish
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, mash up 2 ripe bananas until fairly smooth.
Add all your wet ingredients; peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and egg to the bowl and mix. Be sure to mix well so your peanut butter isn't lumpy.
Add your dry ingredients; flour and baking soda and mix batter thoroughly.
Lastly, fold in your chocolate chips.
Grease a baking dish and add your mix in. Place in the oven to bake for 15 minutes or until cooked.
Allow to cool, then cut into squares and enjoy!
